We want to encourage more people to walk—of all ages, be it fast or slow, on your own or with a group, for travel, for exercise, leisure or for pleasure.
So we've renamed October—Walktober! And for the whole month, Walktober is supporting local government, community groups and organisations to organise a range of walking activities for their community. Last year over 500 events and 90,000 people participated in Walktober around the state. This year marks Walktober's fifth year and we are hoping even more people will get involved!
